Travel

The Cambridge Criterium is a free-to-attend spectator event. That’s why we recommend planning your journey in advance and allowing additional time to travel.

The main HQ for the event is Jesus Green, Victoria Avenue, CB4 1HA. This is where the Event Village, race start, food and drink vendors, Expo, Toilets, First Aid and bike parking will be located. Please note, there is no car parking at Jesus Green. The What3Words address for the start and finish is: ///caked.listed.list

The race competitor HQ is Chesterton Sports Centre, Chesterton Community College, Gilbert Rd, Cambridge CB4 3NY.

Let’s Ride participants can access the route at three places:

  1. Next to the start/finish on Victoria Avenue

  2. Mitcham’s Corner, Cambridge

  3. Bridge Street/Jesus Lane junction

  • If you live in Cambridge and are able, we recommend arriving by foot. This means you won’t need to look for a car or bike parking space.

This will also give you the most flexibility to visit different parts of the route and event village.

  • One of the easiest ways to get around Cambridge is on a bike!

We provide parking for up to 400 bicycles in the event village on Jesus Green.

  • If you need to drive, but don’t want to worry about parking, Cambridge has five Park & Ride sites that are easily accessible with free parking.

A return ticket is only £3.50 and you can use this ticket to hop on and off any Park & Ride bus all day.

You can find all the information on cambridgeparkandride.info

  • If you’re driving to the event, we recommend you plan your journey with the Park & Ride as the ‘final mile’. Trumpington and Madingley Park & Ride can be accessed directly from the M11, Milton Park & Ride via the A14.

  • Cambridge is a medieval city with a strong focus on active travel. For that reason, car parking in the city is limited and we recommend parking in the free Park & Ride car parks, then hopping on a bus into the city.

If you have to drive, you can park in the following paid car parks: The Grand Arcade; Queen Anne Terrace; Grafton East; Grafton West; Lammas Land, Castle Hill.

Team parking should be arranged with the organisers before the event.

Competitor parking details will be emailed prior to the event.

Please note, the Grafton West Car Park will be restricted for event use on the day.

  • We want to make sure that the Cambridge Criterium is accessible as possible.

We can provide parking spaces in Grafton West Car Park, near the Event Village, for people with reduced mobility.

We provide accessible sanitary facilities in the event village.

If you require assistance at the event, please contact info@monumentcycling.com and indicate which facilities you want to use. We will then provide you with all information you need in advance.
